Pacific Rubiales Announces Re-Filing of Financial Results for the Year Ended December 31, 2008

    TORONTO, April 6 /CNW/ - Pacific Rubiales Energy Corp. (TSX: PRE)
announced today that it had today re-filed with the Canadian Securities
Administrators audited consolidated financial results for the year ended
December 31, 2008 (the "Financial Results"). The financial statements of the
company, filed on April 1, 2009, contained minor errors, which have been
corrected in the final version filed today.The changes from the financial statements previously filed by the company
    are as follows:
    -   the signature of the company's auditors has been added to the
        auditor's report at the front of the document;
    -   conformed signatures for Ronald Pantin and Jose Francisco Arata, the
        two directors signing the financial statements, have been added to
        the balance sheet; and
    -   changes were identified to the future income tax assets and
        liabilities table in Note 14 - Income taxes of the financial
        statements. No changes have been made to the balance sheet or income
        statement as a result of the correction of this error.The re-filed financial statements were filed pursuant to Multilateral
Instrument 51-102 and are available at www.sedar.comwww.sedar.com and on the
company's website.

    Pacific Rubiales, a Canadian-based company and producer of natural gas
and heavy crude oil, owns 100 percent of Meta Petroleum Corp., a Colombian oil
operator which operates the Rubiales and Piriri oil fields in the Llanos Basin
in association with Ecopetrol S.A., the Colombian national oil company. The
company is focused on identifying opportunities primarily within the eastern
Llanos Basin of Colombia as well as in other areas in Colombia and northern
